About a month and a 1/2 ago… Scratch that -about 5 months ago, I got an email from eBay for an offer for 5% eBay bucks. I wouldn’t I went into the email to activate it and it said it said I was not qualified. About a month later I got another email stating that the initial email stating that I was not qualified was in error – The eBay was working on the issue and you and that I could call to inquire inquire if I so choose. I did call, and they informed me that they were aware of the issue and that it was already being worked on. We spent about $1200 in the month of April -so we were licking our chops looking at $60 in eBay bucks -yeehaw 🤠
So they tell me to call back as we near the 1st of July when the eBay bucks will we’ll be given. So I did as advised. I spoke to several agents over the next couple of days it’s. Initially, I was told was that I should be getting the eBay bucks later in the day. Didn’t happen…Call back later that afternoon they said I should be getting them in the morning… I set up a call back with her as well as a gentleman the day before -Scheduled for Saturday. Friday night rolls around and still no eBay bucks. So I get a call in the morning from the young lady stating that it aint that there is no indication of an email which I had mentioned stating any error with the system during that time. No indication of any eBay bucks promotions for the month of April either.
So, for the last couple of days I had been looking up some deals on deals on shark vacuums to replace my old one. I had managed to come up with a great offer which was accepted -and I asked the seller to give me a couple of extra da couple of extra days to make payment while I was waiting on the eBay Bucks. So you can imagine my frustration as well as my disappointment when when the callback I received ended a no eBay bucks whatsoever. She told me there was a promotion for may, but I had no eBay bucks purchases that qualified. So here I am with a clock ticking, I’m stuck with a $245 commitment to a Shark vacuum I probably shouldn’t have extended myself to begin with 😏.
So come Saturday evening I figure it out bet it right better go ahead and make the payment on the purchase purchase since I did commit to it, and since it appeared I had received a final answer after answer after many many phone calls regarding these eBay bucks. I decide to call eBay one last time for some clarification about what I can’t remember-and while I’m dialing the phone I get a call from eBay in the middle of the call back I was waiting for and answering just @ that moment as well.
For whatever odd reason, I want to hidden switch the calls and answered the one coming in secondly. It turned out to be the young man I had arranged the call back with with the day before -and without even thinking I asked “Are you doing the call back on the eBay Bbucks issue?” “Yes I am”.* So I explained the situation over the last couple of months and then the situation with the other agents over the last couple of days. The young man zipped through some emails and said “Oh yeah, I see the email here where they told you there was an error.” He then verified the amount of money spent in the month of April on purchases… and said “Well I can’t give you a coupon for $60 but I can give you one for 50?” And the rest is history. I thanked him so much** -and then I thank God so much!!! I was in complete awe once again!
*I just wanted to make a note that at this time I also had my PayPal check out screen open ready to pay for the vacuum while all this was going on. There might have been an issue with the tax which is why I made the phone call prior to paying for the vacuum. Just seconds away from doing so when the 2nd call came in.
**Just a quick note: We’re often quick to complain -but slow to compliment. I try to keep this little axiom in the forefront of my mind -in matters such as these 🤷♂️
