A man contests his sense of being in touch with reality with regard to his fellow human being in at least a couple of ways. A man goes down to the pawn shop with a fixed idea of what he can borrow on something that he has based upon what is fair. Where you can go down to the pawn shop with a fixed idea of what he can borrow on something that he is based upon the character of the individual he is dealing with or has dealt with in the past. 🤷♂️
We speak up about injustices here and there in this country. Things that appease are guilt, our sense of morality; but what about addressing those problems in society they would impact our own excesses or freedoms or comforts or beliefs? We live in a society largely made up of the philosophy that in order for one person to win another person must lose. So if we are to help those who are losing then it is not altogether far fetched that we who have more than our fair share must give up something. But problem solving rarely goes beyond that threshold with the average person. And as if that weren’t enough, we never quite seem to address the core issues and then it given society because man is unwilling, rather man is only willing to go so far. He’s not willing to sacrifice his own life[style] for another. It would seem unamerican to give up what you have worked so hard for for another person you don’t even know.
It doesn’t matter how wonderful the person is you’re married to [and most aren’t]. The essence of a relationship is who you are; that certain something attached to our core [unconditional love?] at every fiber of our being? THAT IS WHAT MAKES A RELATIONSHIP WITH EXTRAORDINARILY FLAWED BEINGS TOLERABLE!
