THE 🥜-GALLERY

I sometimes wondered 🤔 if it wasn’t my own inability (refusal) to understand others that was @ the root of the problem?

Any thoughts from the 🥜-gallery? Well try this:

There’s two basic reasons people fail to coexist:

•They don’t understand each other (or humans in general)

•They understand each other all-too-well

Take your pick.

I’M AFRAID YOU HAVE ME AT A DISADVANTAGE SIR

The old timer puts it to the newcomer “I’M AFRAID YOU HAVE ME AT A DISADVANTAGE SIR -i’ve excorcised most of my 😈 -whereas you haven’t”.

Rebellion is nothing new to Alcoholics Anonymous -and neither is blame. It can take a very long time for an Alcoholic to learn self accountability. It can take some human beings a very long time to learn self accountability.

There’s these 2 🦬 sitting up on top of a hill looking down on a herd of 🐄. The young 🐃 says to the old 🦬 ” Let’s run down there and do one of them (each of course 😄).” The old 🦬 turns to him and says, “Let’s just stroll down there son… 🤔 and do’em all”.

Which one’s out anger or Serenity? Two people get into an altercatiin -well one technically… 😏 Which one wins?

I told a man who at the time had 49 years of sobriety ” Practicing character building does not seem to be one of the top priorities of most Americans these days.” He chuckled mildly (cannot recall the real word I’m looking for at the moment 🤔), then said “No, it certainly doesn’t”.* Well maybe, just maybe -we ought do som’ bout dat 🤷‍♂️

*You see, back in the day, back in the wooly-wild -man did whatever he had to survive. In spite of all the comforts, in spite of all the shielding from mother nature (too much in my opinion), many-a-man and far too often I might add -has that same mentality. In most cases, we don’t have the excuse of death being right around the corner -so, we have no choice but to… And we don’t have the excuse of not having something called “The Holy Bible” these days.**

**Men kill, lie, cheat (corrupt) so they can keep their Ferrari -so they, and their mistress can continue to live in excess 😒

MAN-GOD

The traditions in Alcoholics Anonymous are a perfect example of how God’s thinking differs from our own.

This 12 steps save me from alcoholism; The 12 tradition save alcohol to anonymous for me.

EXTREME MEASURES

One man’s complicity is another man’s simplicity 🤔 Or is it the other way around?

Extremists are always getting a bad rap! But what’s extreme? Jesus was considered by many, then and now,, to be an extremist, a radicalist.

What is extreme? Anything that conflicts with the status quo? LOL

•Title credited to Extreme Measures , a 1996 American crime thriller film based on Michael Palmer‘s 1991 novel of the same name, dealing with the ethics of medical sacrifices. DRIVER’S SEAT

My job, with God in the driver’s seat, is to get back to the person I was before the world turned me.

•Title credited to “Driver’s Seat“, a 1978 song by the British band Sniff ‘n’ the Tears that appears on their debut album, Fickle Heart. The band is considered a one-hit wonder as “Driver’s Seat” was their only hit. Written by Paul Robert’s. Produced by Luigi Salvoni.[Source:https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Driver%27s_Seat].

MORE WILL BE REVEALED

I recently came to the conclusion that 🤔 the issues arising between various members in AA and myself stems from my speaking to them first-and-foremost as people, rather than as Alcoholics. A dear friend of mine once commented, “You go to AA but your not of AA” -Maybe she was right.

We all have strengths; and we all have weakness; but it is apparent that some feel certain strengths carry more weight than others; while certain weaknesses carry less weight than others -thus placing themselves (usually), not so much in a position of neutrality, or equality, but that of superiority!

“We’re spiritual-beings first, human-beings second, and Alcoholics third”

I determine what my motives and my motivations are -YOU CAN’T TOUCH THEM! God made it that way!

I, and I alone determine what my motives are – NOT YOU!

Apparently, there are a lot of people out there in the world who can read minds 🤷‍♂️

You can purposefully forcefully addict someone -but it won’t have the same effect on a spiritual level (since the addictive process would have to be strictly, solely voluntary for that to happen).

When people are on heavy doses of prescription meds, and rightly so, do you suppose it harms or interferes with their relationship with God as well -I think God can discern between a valid medical issue and active-addiction.

“If you’re working a piss-poor recovery program while seeking prescription meds to take the edge off… you’re still using!” GOD -FROM SOME 25 OR SO YEARS AGO!

Until I could accept my alcoholism, I could not stay sober; unless I accept life completely on life’s terms, I cannot be happy. I need to concentrate not so much on what needs to be changed in the world as on what needs to be changed in me and in my attitudes.“*

ACCEPTANCE WAS THE ANSWER -CHAPTER 16

SENSE AND SENSIBILITY

Far too often -we human-beings place our own feelings above (our own?) sensibilities.

Just because you stirring up the room, doesn’t mean you’re doing something wrong -it doesn’t mean you’re doing something right either!

•Title credited to Sense and Sensibility, a 1995 period drama film directed by Ang Lee and based on Jane Austen‘s 1811 novel of the same nameEmma Thompson wrote the screenplay and stars as Elinor Dashwood, while Kate Winslet plays Elinor’s younger sister Marianne. The story follows the Dashwood sisters, members of a wealthy English family of landed gentry, as they must deal with circumstances of sudden destitution. They are forced to seek financial security through marriage. Hugh Grant and Alan Rickman play their respective suitors. The film was released on December 13, 1995, in the United States. WHAT A CATCH

Funny -I never thought of a person as a 🐟

Women tend to use this… but when men sit around the cooler describing their own… I think men have something of a more relaxed attitude towards womens’… than women do towards mens’… 🤷‍♂️
