LET THE MUSIC PLAY

Music, has always had a strong correlational relationship (barometer) to the culture, and the times. In the 60s you heard? 70s? 80s? 90s? 00s? 10s? 20s? How has the music differed from decade to decade? Or generation to generation? What is the music itself saying? What role have we played in the changes in music representative of the times? Has the music become deeper or shallower? Has it become more harmonious or more angry?

BLUE COLLAR MAN

If you would lie to save your minimum wage Jack in the Box job -what do you think some white collar worker would do to save millions?

•Title taken from Styx song of same name from the album “Pieces of Eight” (1978), Tommy Shaw (writer).

WHO KNOWS

God knows what each of us needs and deserves. The problem is most of us want the same thing! Under the circumstances, it can’t work that way! Most people think they’re deserving of period period you you go into any prison and lineup a 1000 inmates and ask them what they think of themselves and most will tell you they’re pretty good people. By what standard? There are a lot of people who are very successful in the world and have never had any legal issues -and they are far from…

What happens when you take a below average intelligence individual and bring them up with lots and lots of intellectual stimulation?? What happens when you take in above average love average intelligence individual and bring them up with very little intellectual stimulation?

Einstein says that true intelligence lies in creativity -not in knowledge. What’s so brainy about processing information that’s already been discovered?

One day it came to me that if we took somebody else’s invention and moved it to another part of the world… It would be as if we invented it right? Except for the fact that we didn’t! And some people don’t seem to be too bothered about that fact.

…CONSTANT THOUGHT OF OTHERS

If it’s not a spiritual principle get rid of it.

Some people are harder on themselves and considered of others Whit’s literate of others while some people are harder on others and considered of themselves

In order for our lives to get better -WE HAVE TO GET BETTER!

Alcoholics Anonymous has taught me to seek the best possible relationships with all peoples (and it’s something I continually struggle with).

•Title is an exerpt from the book Alcoholics Anonymous, chapter 2, page 20.

EVEN-STEVEN

I’ve noticed this time and time again, given that I have a tendency to accommodate people in a particular way – When people offend, they have tendency to feel guilt or shame or regret. In many instances, there ego looks to seize any opportunity to justify their own actions and thus relieve themselves of… If you retaliate, often in people’s minds that justifies their behavior -If nothing else, it makes you both even. I’ve seen people play this card over and over again. Of course this is nonsense, we are each accountable for our actions, and they are not to be dismissed simply because of another’s actions, or lack thereof!

AND NOW, A WORD FROM OUR SPONSORS

Side-note: Sometimes life sucks, but sobriety has always been great. Some people in Alcoholics Anonymous don’t know there’s a difference between the two. People going around throwing away one, thinking they’re getting rid of the other. Sobriety is the reason for everything good in my life -why would I throw that out? How often do things in life initially hit the fan, we go out and get drunk rather than see things through, see how things might play out! How many times have we seen with those who stuck it out, miracles happening everywhere! And how many times have we seen people go out and get drunk before the miracles themselves happen? Remember, this disease is cunning baffling and powerful -It wants us back out there taking that first drink to infinity!

“People have a habit of getting sober around here!” 😉
