There’s something about man’s cities that looks very cold.
How is it that most of us come to dwell inside of these man made caves? Does it date back to the womb? And how is it that some of us come to make the sky above us our home?
Some people don’t know the difference between a person who’s being an authoritarian and someone who has conviction.
If you had to choose between your daughter going out with a 16 year old her age who is cunning and was cunning and dishonest and is dishonest andā¦. Or a 30 year old man who was honest and responsible and capable of caring and respecting your daughter peryour daughterā¦ which would you choose? The law says it’s legal for the former and not the latter.
If you can’t solve my problem at least act like you give a damn. I just got off the phone with a representative from my bank who couldn’t solve my problem and acted like he could give it damn. It’s like I said before, if I get on the phone upset and my frustration increases with you then you are an escalator not AD escalator.
Yesterday the topic in the meeting was anxiety. I remember thinking to myself… remembering back to the days when I felt ashamed for the things I had done -and when I would go out into the world and look people in the eye I would feel this great anxiety. Then those days vanished -I became just another of the walking dead as I like to call it. There are millions of people walking around in the world who have done shameful things and appear to feel nothing when out-and-about, facing a fellow soul. This is never a good thing.
When I was a child I had all sorts of reactions to the things I had been subject to. I tried to remind myself that in spite of the fact that they caused me so much trouble with the people around me they were perfectly normal emotions and reactions. The real problem would have been had I had nothing whatsoever whatsoever in the face of these experiences – course the people around me didn’t care for them. They never even bothered to ask what was wrong – they merely thought I was a misbehaved child. In many instances they seemed to prefer scolding or punishing me rather than sitting down and trying to figure out what was wrong. It takes a special person to sit down with a difficult person to sit down with a difficult person to sit down with a difficult person and have a heart-to-heart rather than becoming bitter, or judgmental, or retaliatory. Those people were far and few in between in my life.
The universe will always have more of God in it than of man!
Anyways, Iām not here to bash people but to simply be a part of a process which brings enlightenment. I may @ times blur the lines as I tend to get upset regarding the direction our world is going in (Iām only human just like you) -and the influence it is having on children who donāt have the necessary perspective, life-experience, proper guardianship to distinguish various messages coming out of our world these days. It doesnāt take much to condition (convince) a child that something very wrong isnāt, or isnāt āthat badā as long asā¦ especially if it brings pleasure and other positive emotions (how can it be wrong, or bad)*.
*I envision a future, where people are engaging in same-sex intercourse not because of feelings stirred within them from a very early age, but because of the examples being set by the adults around them. Gangs, drug-abuse, alcohol consumption (we live in a world that demands rigorous coping and life skills -humans are often predispositioned, if not conditioned to seek an easy way out. Or worse yet, where a lack of adequate skills and defenses are evident -people will latch on to whatever happens to be available around them (whether they just happen to be their, or are purposefully put there @ a priceā¦ or based upon some other hidden agenda). ALL OF THESE THINGS ARE PASSED ON FROM GENERATION-TO-GENERATION. In fact, the drug dealers are counting on it, the cigarette industry is counting on it, and the alcohol industry is counting on it. Most people consume alcohol while only 10% are alcoholics -they do so for the aforementioned reasons which I will reiterate here**:

ā¢Americana (a part of the cultural landscape)
ā¢Escape
ā¢Coping toolā¦

You know, if I was the head of a multi-million dollar industry that I knew was causing great great harm to millions of peopleā¦ And donāt give me that shit about people being responsible for their own choices (for some people the worst thing that can happen to them is too much freedom; and a close second is… too much money!)… while spending millions of dollars in campaigns to push your product. And in the back your mind, or the forefront of it, “todayās child observing their parents, and all-the-while being continually bombarded by ads (glamourizing)ā¦ are tomorrowās (next) best customers!” Whatever you put in front of a child, a certain percentage will gravitate to it -or be affected by it in other areas of their decision-making.
Iām fairly certain thereās rock solid empirical evidence regarding influences on children -historical as well as contemporary! And Iām quite sure Iām not alone in my concerns! A lot of people are not gonna like what has to be said here ā But as it was once stated in the movie āClass Actionā āYouāre probably gonna beat him Maggie -and we both know that. But at least heāll go down knowing he was on the right side.ā DITTO
This morning Ana and Ray brought Daisy (our little Chiuhahua) over on their way out to San Antonio to visit the kids and the grand kids. While we were adoring her, Ray made the comment “She acts better than some humans”. Well maybe we should consider treating our pets better than we treat some human beings. š¤·āāļø
You know these creatures have really been a Godsend -particularly for the lonely, the broken-hearted, the ill/ailing…
Every time somebody says or does something to discredit the powers that be -they always end up being charged with pedophilia or extortion or… just look @ Snowden. I understand they tried to get Ralph Nadir caught up in a scandal at some point -but as it turns out, he was incorruptible š
I heard something many years ago about subliminal messaging messaging in such movies as the wizard of Oz*. On records being played backwards by Led Zeppelin** (don’t get me wrong, I’m a huge Led Zeppelin music fan -or was?)…**

And what happens when people get tired of buying all this junk and decide to go back to the simple life and spending time with their families visiting and getting to know one another better?
Remember the days when people sat around discussing each other’s day? Taking the time to show a vested interest in one another’s lives? Really knowing what was going on with each other from day-to-day!
Remember when people would sit at the dinner table, say grace, look each other in the eye and get centered -get (re)connected? The upside to the depression -people, in their fear, and in their struggle, turned to one another for strength, comfort, hope!
So when the economy tanked back in the 20s, where did all that money go? All that money that people lost and suddenly found themselves, and their children homeless and starving? Did it go into a hole? Vaporize? Float out into space? Where did all this money, necessary to millions and millions of lives go? Don’t tell me a few people had it all and stood by while 10’s-of-millions suffered -DON’T TELL ME THAT!!!! š
I pray the day people throw their phones in the dumpster and get back to enjoying God’s beauty and one another -Ana and I were just discussing the other day sitting at Village Inn several years ago, watching these 4 twenty-somethings -sitting at a table, staring at their phones (reminded us of that picture in life magazine of the people sitting in the movie theater with their 3-D glasses on -all staring forward). No wonder we’re all so unfulfilled and empty -waiting for the next new iPhone*! SHAKES HIS HEAD
*The secret to addicting people (90-some percent of people are predisposed to one kind or another) -restless, irritable, discontent. Why God, did you have to allow something to not only ravage mankind, but also that could be harnessed by us and used against our own kind! Answer: to bring us to our knees (you see š¤, the upside to addiction is -eventually, we cave). Even if it’s not seemingly life threatening! Because, why else would God, in His infinite Wisdom, allow it! You think you’re going to outsmart God?**

It used to be that when a company got caught up in a scandal the masses took their business elsewhere. And if you weren’t careful about proper customer service you were really in trouble. But nowadays… You go under the wire for a few months, or years -and then come back with a vengeance? Nowadays -shitty customer service seems to be more the norm than the exception.
Sometimes when one gets past me, as one did about 20 minutes ago – I think to myself as a sacrifice which only fuels my eagerness to pursue the next 5,? Or, the next 100?š¤·āāļø
Something that came to me during my years doing groups at our resident treatment center “If you hear it twice it’s probably God talking”. š¤ The same goes for if you read it twice -on this website!
